Master Mezcalero
Bernardino Jarquín, from Miahuatlan de Porfirio Díaz, Oaxaca. His wife is Eulogia Jarquín Sanchez. Bernardino is a third generation of Mezcaleros. He is the son of Florencio Jarquín Ramos and Erminia Pacheco Cruz.
At three years of age, he and his family moved to Mengoli de Morelos Agency in Barrio el Nanche, in Miahuatlan de Porfirio Díaz. Bernardino grew up in the field pasturing goats and dedicating himself to planting corn, beans and squash, always helping his parents to get ahead. His father was a farmer 100% dedicated to the field, growing maguey, corn and beans. Love of mezcal has been passed from generation to generation since Miahuatlan has been a town with a long and proud Mezcalera heritage.
Don Bernardino was taught from childhood about the care of the maguey and in the distilling of Mezcal. In his spare time he helps in his community as a minister of the church, and has donated various lands for the welfare of his community such as for the kindergarten and also the communal house.
He is known for being a good person with a very kind heart and because he is childless he has adopted us into his great family. We are very proud to have him among us.
